The Strictly Smokin' Big Band
Based in Newcastle upon Tyne the Strictly Smokin' Big Band is now a well established North East ensemble that produces a classic big band sound, but with a contemporary touch. The band has a broad and constantly expanding repertoire which includes Duke Ellington, Buddy Rich, Bob Mintzer, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Gordon Goodwin, so there's something for everyone to enjoy.
The Strictly Smokin' Big Band started life in 2002 as a high school jazz band and has evolved into an ensemble of some of the best musicians in the Region performing to audiences and at events across the North East.
